Meet Pastor Dave

Pastor Dave Purdy spent his first 12 years in ministry as a youth pastor. He transitioned to being a lead pastor in 2012 and brings the energy, passion and enthusiasm you’d expect of a youth pastor to his position as lead pastor. His down-to-earth style of preaching/teaching combined with his intense desire to see the Word of God come alive as it’s taught allows him to bridge generations and speak to today’s culture. Whether you have been in church all your life or have been considering attending for the first time, you’ll be able to understand and apply the message to your life.

Pastor Dave studied and received a degree in Bible/Theology with an emphasis on youth ministry from Appalachian Bible College. He married his high school sweetheart Kim and together they have two children and a wonderful daughter in law. Caleb serves as a youth pastor along with his wife Rachelle at a church just north of Buffalo, NY. Kylee is studying at Indiana Wesleyan University while competing on their golf team.

Meet Pastor Kirk

Pastor Kirk and Donna both gave their lives to the Lord in the early 1980s. They both graduated from Cedarville in 1986 and have served the Lord faithfully in a variety of ways since then. They served as teachers at Carroll County Christian Academy; Kirk served as a youth pastor and then an interim pastor in Waldoboro, Maine; as senior pastor at First Baptist Church in Mexico, Maine; as associate pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Ashland; with The Transformation Network in Ashland; and is now the chaplain at West View Healthy Living in Wooster while also serving as Family Pastor of NorthWinds.

Pastor Kirk and Donna have three adult sons: Anthony (and Rachel), Grant (and Colleen), and David (and Sarah) and all their precious grandchildren! They bring a wealth of experience, a depth of character, and a sincere love for God and His people.

Meet Pastor Luke

Pastor Luke and his wife, Kristin, both surrendered to full-time ministry in July of 2015. They served in various ministries at their church, including 8 years as youth group leaders. In 2023, they moved from their hometown of Winter Garden, FL to Ohio, where Luke took on the role of sports director at a local church. While Luke enjoys combining his love for sports with ministry, God opened the door for him to serve as the youth pastor at NorthWinds. With a passion for helping young people grow in their faith, Luke is dedicated to building meaningful relationships and creating a welcoming, fun environment where students feel seen, supported, and spiritually encouraged.

Luke and Kristin have 3 kids: Levi, Anna and Noah. Together, they are grateful to call NorthWinds home and are excited to walk alongside students and families as they pursue Christ together.
